Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to join our organization as the Head of Agency for our Life Insurance business. This is a confidential and senior leadership position, responsible for overseeing the agency distribution network. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in leading high-performance teams, implementing strategic growth initiatives, and driving revenue through the agency channel.

As the Head of Agency, you will work closely with the executive leadership team to ensure that the company achieves its sales goals, expands its market presence, and maintains the highest standards of agency management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    Develop and execute strategies to drive agency sales growth, market penetration, and profitability for the life insurance division. Set ambitious yet achievable targets and ensure their successful attainment.

  • Agency Network Management:
    Lead, manage, and motivate a large team of agency managers and agents. Cultivate strong relationships with top-performing agents, helping them grow their business while ensuring that they adhere to company policies and standards.

  • Sales Performance Optimization:
    Oversee and guide the agency sales force in meeting and exceeding sales objectives, ensuring consistency in quality and performance. Monitor individual agent performance and implement programs to improve sales results.

  • Talent Acquisition and Development:
    Spearhead recruitment and talent development initiatives to ensure that the agency force is skilled, engaged, and aligned with the company's vision and values. Facilitate continuous training and mentorship programs to enhance agent capabilities.

  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    Ensure that all agency activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies. Manage risk associated with the agency network and take proactive steps to address issues as they arise.

  • Market Analysis & Insights:
    Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth within the agency channel. Provide insightful data and reporting to the senior leadership team for informed decision-making.

  • Collaboration:
    Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, underwriting, product, and operations teams to support agency objectives and streamline processes that enhance sales effectiveness.

  • Budget Management:
    Manage the agency channel budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to drive sales while controlling costs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • At least 10 years of experience in life insurance sales and distribution, with a strong focus on agency management.

    • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing large teams or a significant agency network.

    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth through agency distribution.

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).

    • Relevant certifications in insurance (e.g., FLMI, CLU, ChFC) are a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams.

    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership and external stakeholders.

    • Strategic thinking and a proven ability to execute business plans effectively.

    • In-depth knowledge of the life insurance industry, distribution models, and market dynamics.

    • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

    • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing and competitive market.
