Position Overview

The Application Administrator II - Epic Hospital Billing is responsible for the design, configuration, and maintenance of both vendor-purchased and hospitaled-developed applications. This role serves as the key point of contact between department super users, application vendors, educators, and support teams, particularly for application upgrades, service requests, and optimization initiatives. While the Application Administrator II primarily focuses on a specific area of expertise, there may be opportunities for cross-training on related applications. Focus areas may include patient access, revenue cycle, clinical operations, ancillary departments, or administrative/corporate applications. The position works closely with the IT Application Administrator Lead or IT Project Manager, and often operates as part of a collaborative team. Additionally, the Application Administrator II partners with IT Resource Educators, Infrastructure Services, and Customer Support teams to ensure the application system environment is maintained, optimized, and fully supported.

Qualifications

Education:

• BA/BS in Information Technology, Healthcare, or a related business field; OR
• Certified/Associate degree with 3 years of relevant application experience in business or healthcare; OR
• 5 years of relevant application experience in business or healthcare.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare-related field, utilizing information technology in daily operations.
• Proven analytical and critical thinking skills for process development and problem-solving.
• Strong customer service skills with a commitment to accountability.
• In-depth understanding of healthcare processes and application system coordination.
• Familiarity with database structures and reporting tools.
