Position Overview:
The E&S Property Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting and selecting risks for the Excess and Surplus (E&S) Property portfolio. This role requires the individual to work closely with brokers, agents, and clients to assess complex property risks, develop tailored insurance solutions, and maintain the organization's competitive edge in the marketplace. The position provides a unique opportunity to join a leading global insurer and contribute to its continued success.


Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite complex E&S property risks, focusing on large commercial and industrial properties.
• Analyze submissions, assess risk exposures, and determine appropriate pricing, terms, and coverage conditions.
• Collaborate with brokers and agents to design customized insurance programs tailored to meet client needs.
• Foster strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal teams to support business growth.
• Monitor portfolio performance, track emerging trends, and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, industry regulations, and internal compliance standards.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters, participating in training and development efforts.
• Stay informed of market conditions, emerging risks, and industry trends to make informed underwriting decisions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property underwriting, with at least 3 years focused on E&S property lines.
• Strong understanding of the E&S market, regulatory environments, and coverage forms.
• Proven ability to assess complex risks, set competitive pricing, and manage underwriting decisions effectively.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or similar designations are a plus.
