We are partnered with a leading alternative private equity firm in Chicago who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Specialist to join their dynamic team. This has the opportunity to lead a growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns, ensuring they are accurate and on time.
- Supervise tax return preparation for federal and state filings.
- Ensure tax reporting is accurate and consistent across the company.
- Work with accounting teams to gather financial data for tax filings and K1 reports.
- Manage cash flow for taxes, including liabilities, payments, and withholding.
- Ensure timely tax payments and manage liquidity with senior leadership.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements to match tax returns.
- Act as the main contact for tax authorities and handle inquiries and audits.
- Stay updated on tax law changes and ensure the company stays compliant.
- Work with internal fund accounting, investments and compliance teams.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of expeirence in tax at a public accounting firm
- CPA or MST in preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
- Detail‐oriented, responsible, and proactive.
- Organized and able to manage shifting priorities and deliverables.
- Previous experience supervising a team. Interest in management.
