Senior System Engineer Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join their Information Systems team. In this role, you will participate in IT infrastructure projects, monitor server status, and take necessary actions. You should be a team player, eager to learn new technologies and adapt to a rapidly evolving IT environment.

• Manage virtual servers, NAS systems, backup systems, VOIP systems, firewalls, network switches, and more.
• Perform project tasks within the IT infrastructure.
• Maintain servers and propose improvements.
• Deploy security patches and follow up on incidents.
• Adhere to existing ICT policies and work methods.
• Participate in internal meetings and safety meetings.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a System Engineer.
• Extensive experience in Active Directory administration and user management.
• In-depth knowledge of configuring and managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
• Extensive knowledge and experience in network management, including DHCP, DNS, IPS/IDS, NAT, with specific experience in Cisco and Fortinet switches, routing, and firewalls.
• Experience managing Microsoft SQL databases.
• Experience with NAS (SAN) storage and backup systems, such as HPE Nimble, Barracuda, and Synology.
• Thorough knowledge of Windows and Windows Server management/setup.
• Knowledge and experience with O365.
• Extensive VMware/ESX knowledge.
• Work experience with service management tools for incidents and requests.
• Proven knowledge and experience with monitoring software to ensure system performance (Zabbix).
• 3rd line support experience.
