Position Summary
Oliver James are currently engaged with a listed P&C insurance carrier with the appointment of a SVP, Head of Investment Operations & Reporting. In this pivotal role, you will support the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and regional CIOs oversee the operational and reporting functions for this client's $20bn global investment portfolio.
You will collaborate with senior executives, regional portfolio management teams, and the alternative investment team to drive operational excellence and enhance reporting capabilities.

Compensation
Pending on candidate experience. Base salary ranges from 200-250k base with short term bonus and long-term earning potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead a team of 3-5 professionals, fostering a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence.
- Board/Investment Committee Reporting: Develop and enhance materials for investment committees across various regions, ensuring clarity and precision.
- Functional Reporting: Oversee the creation of liquidity reports, peer analysis, performance attribution, and compliance reporting. Transition key processes from Excel to PowerBI and maintain advanced dashboards and analytics.
- Data Management: Monitor and validate data from systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Lead vendor evaluations for investment systems.
- Operational Excellence: Manage complex projects, including M&A deal implementations, portfolio restructuring, and trade settlements. Develop robust operational procedures and controls documentation.
- Custodial Oversight: Manage relationships with custodial banks, ensuring operational flexibility and efficiency.
- Audit & Compliance: Own the investment SOX control process, oversee operational due diligence, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison with Treasury, FP&A, Investment Accounting, and other internal teams to fulfill reporting requests.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 10+ years in senior investment operations and reporting roles.
- Industry: exposure to the insurance or reinsurance industry either working at a carrier, TPA or financial services firm specializing in insurance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with systems as well as advanced Excel and Bloomberg skills.
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with fixed income, alternative investments, derivatives, and insurance/reinsurance regulatory requirements.
- Leadership: Proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. A detail-oriented and proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
