Sr. Underwriter: Environmental Casualty

Our client, a leading and established carrier in the industry, is looking to grow their environmental casualty team in Houston with the addition of a Sr. Underwriter.

Their risk appetite is inclusive of package casualty, and professionals with a more generalist background in casualty are encouraged to apply. Training and resources are available to teach CPL and Site Pollution coverages.

Role & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze insurance applications to determine the risk level involved and the appropriate premium rates.
• Underwrite casualty and environmental liability, including general liability, employer's liability, excess / surplus liability, worker's compensation, auto and umbrella policies. Additional responsibility in environmental specific coverages including CPL, and Site Pollution.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations pertinent to casualty and environmental insurance policies.
• Collaborate with brokers to facilitate effective coverage solutions for clients that meet their needs and risk profiles.
• Maintain and grow relationships with key brokerage partners, both in wholesale and retail channels.

Key Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in casualty production underwriting
• Strong analytic and decision-making skills to accurately evaluate risk and make sound underwriting decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, agents, and brokers
