An established company in the energy insurance sector is seeking a Senior Technical Claims Specialist. This firm is an insurance underwriting manager specializing in unique property and casualty products and risk services for customers engaged in the energy industry. Responsibilities:
Handle, negotiate, and resolve third-party commercial general liability and automobile bodily injury and property damage claims.
Verify coverage, interpret policies, analyze contracts, and investigate and evaluate liabilities.
Manage the investigative process while maintaining communication with customers and external parties.
Document key activities, contacts, and statements to ensure all aspects of the claim are properly outlined.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of medical terms, treatments, and injury descriptions.
Collaborate with external defense counsel on litigation management.
Recognize and evaluate potential exposures under the policy to establish timely reserves.
Manage the claim authorization process and negotiate complex claims.
Provide detailed documentation and maintain accuracy in all data and procedures.
Uphold a high standard of customer service and resolve disputes using a win-win approach.
Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
Ability to testify in claims negotiations or trials when necessary.
Take individual responsibility and hold others accountable for actions.
Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in multi-line claims, including high severity bodily injury claims.
Texas claims adjuster license required; additional licenses are a plus.
Litigation experience is required.
Strong computer proficiency.
Multi-jurisdictional experience is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow detailed procedures with high accuracy.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
