We've partnered with one of the leading tech companies driving innovation and delivering impactful solutions across the industry. They are looking for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team and contribute to pioneering projects centered on containerisation and development automation.
The Role
In this role, you will work within a dynamic environment where modern software development intersects with advanced container technologies. With a strong emphasis on automation, standardisation, and security, the company is adopting Open Source Development Containers to streamline local development and enhance team collaboration.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will take the lead in improving and supporting Dev Container solutions. You'll tackle complex challenges, including network integration, user permissions, and team-wide standardisation, to enable more efficient workflows and elevate the overall development experience.
Responsibilities
- Simplify development workflows by creating and maintaining centralised environments using Dev Containers.
- Expand existing Dev Container features and develop tailored solutions to meet team-specific requirements.
- Develop clear onboarding processes and documentation to assist new developers in integrating seamlessly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and optimise tools and methodologies.
- Ensure a secure, scalable, and future-proof development environment.
- Drive automation efforts to improve lifecycle management and minimise versioning complexities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software development within large organisations, with expertise in Docker, Linux, and agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js) and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- A strong passion for enhancing development toolchains and an interest in staying ahead of industry advancements.
- Familiarity with Windows, WSL2, Linux, MacOS, and databases from a developer's perspective, with an understanding of restricted permission environments. Experience with Dev Containers is highly desirable.
- Fluent in German and English.
