Oliver James are currently recruiting for an exciting and unique opportunity with a insurance broking client in London. We are looking or professionals who are part or newly qualified accountants to perform and be accountable for the weekly client money calculations in accordance with CASS 5 regulations.

You will need to have the following skills and attributes to be considered for this role:

• Demonstrable accounting skills.
• Understanding of CASS 5 rules.
• Data analytics/Power BI skills (preferred).
• Be a part - who is aiming to complete the final studies in the next 1-2 years or newly qualified accountant.
• Experience of working within finance function or audit firm with insurance knowledge.

If you meet the above criteria , the successful candidate will have the below duties (not limited to):

• Agree the timetable for the CMC Calculations
• Perform required reviews on the day before the weekly Client Money Calculations (CMC) are performed.
• Generate the required reconciliations and reports on the respective CMCs days (prior dates final reports).
• Liaise with the operations team to resolve queries.
• Produce the client money calculations from all policy administration systems.
• Finalise the CMC and communicate drawdown and transfers to the cash management team.
• Complete all final reconciliations and checks including ensuring that transfers have been made on the day of the CMCs.
• Obtain sign off from the client money manager on the day of the client money calculations after second level checks have been completed.
• Ensure appropriate document retention of the calculations and all supporting reconciliations.
• Complete breach reporting form for any CMC related breaches on the Firm's enterprise risk management system and implement related action plans as required.
• Continuous improvement and enhancement of CMC control environment.
• Provide CMC and supporting evidence to auditors and respond to their queries in a timely manner.
• Performance of the annual CASS 5 client by client reconciliation.
• Assist the client money manager with other CASS 5 matters including attendance of the monthly operational CASS 5 meeting, provision of support for the various CASS 5 projects.
• Support and develop the broader business regulatory reporting framework.
• Undertake ad-hoc financial control tasks or projects that may arise.
