Your role:
- Design and develop secure PKI architecture
- Implement software solutions to support PKI infrastructure, including HSM (Hardware Security Modules)
- Manage certificate revocation processes using OCSP and CRL
- Work with asymmetric cryptography and encryption standards like RSA and Elliptic Curve (EC) to safeguard data
- Collaborate with the Certificate Authority (CA) to ensure proper issuance and management of digital certificates
- Provide operational support for PKI systems, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance with industry standards

The role of PKI Engineer is a combination of:
- sysadmin-like work
- architecture & design work
- understanding the dependency of 3rd party applications on PKI services
- partially the scope of work is in day-to-day operations
- partially the scope of work is in internal ICT projects
=> The position is for people who like to combine these things. Someone who is interested in analysis, architecture & design as well as deployment and operations. People who want to focus on only one these aspects or have more of an "operator-mindset" are also useful but ONLY if they already have a couple of years experience in ICT operations as operator/sysadmin/nwadmin/....
Ideally we need someone able to take initiative, ownership and who likes to work autonomously after been given an assignment. This is more about character traits than hard or soft skills.
What we are looking for:
- Ideally, you first experience in System or Network Engineering
- Knowledge in PKI design, implementation, and support
- Strong operational focus with hands-on experience in PKI software deployment
- Expertise in HSM, OCSP, CRL, RSA, EC, and asymmetric cryptography
- Familiarity with PKI architecture design and security best practices
- Team-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- You need to accept to be screened for a security clearance
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus
