Role Overview

Our client is undergoing a significant transition in their network infrastructure, migrating to Fortinet solutions (firewalls, switches, and access points). This project requires an experienced engineer with a versatile skill set to ensure a smooth migration and handle critical network challenges.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in network security, automation, and troubleshooting, capable of contributing effectively to an already defined plan while being proactive in problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Firewall Management:
  • Install and configure Fortinet firewalls from scratch.
  • Migrate existing firewalls to Fortinet, including implementing and optimizing security rules.
  • Automate firewall configurations using tools such as Ansible or equivalent solutions.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of Fortinet templates and configurations.
• Switches and Access Points:
  • Migrate existing Cisco switches to Fortinet switches.
  • Install and configure Meraki access points.
  • Ensure optimal deployment and integration of all network components.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization:
  • Provide quick and efficient resolution to network issues while following the pre-established plan.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and propose solutions.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the lead engineer to adhere to the project roadmap.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth project execution and minimal downtime.

Required Skills & Experience

• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, including rules implementation and security management.
  • Familiarity with Cisco and Meraki network equipment.
  • Competence in automation tools such as Ansible for network tasks.
  • Generalist knowledge of networking, including switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Problem-Solving:
  • Ability to quickly address and resolve network challenges.
  • A pragmatic approach to tackling existing infrastructure issues without overhauling the entire system.
• Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to integrate smoothly into the team.
  • A composed, methodical approach to tasks and troubleshooting.
• Languages:
  • Professional proficiency in English is mandatory.
