Network Engineer (Contract Position)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until the end of November 2024, with possibility of extension into 2025.

About the Role:
My client who are a leading financial services business in Zurich, are seeking a highly skilled external Network Engineer to join their team. You will play a critical role in implementing and managing their network infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise in network zoning, firewall management, and Cisco hardware will be highly valued.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Checkpoint Firewall and Firewall Management.
• Strong knowledge of network zoning and modern network technologies (VxLan).
• Solid understanding of service design and architecture.
• Proficient experience with Cisco hardware (mandatory).
• Fluent in English; German skills are preferred but not essential.
• CCNA qualification is preferred.
• Ability to support the business at short notice.

Responsibilities:

• Implement, configure, and deploy the defined network zone concept.
• Configure and manage checkpoint firewall clusters and affected network devices.
• Analyse the network and support application management in the localisation of application connections and definition of firewall rules.
• Implement, commission, and manage the firewall and rules.
• Implement, commission, and manage Cisco components.
