As they embark on a critical data migration initiative, we are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Project Manager to join our team for a fixed term contract of 12 months.
Role Overview:
As a Data Migration Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalising the data migration project. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including IT, data governance, and business units, to ensure a seamless transition of data from legacy systems to new platforms. Your expertise in project management and data migration strategies will be crucial in ensuring the success of this initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end data migration process, including scoping, planning, execution, and post-migration support.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, conduct data analysis, and ensure data integrity throughout the migration process.
- Identify risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and objectives.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, providing status updates to stakeholders and ensuring alignment across teams.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements specific to the insurance industry.
- Conduct testing and validation of migrated data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Prepare and deliver training sessions and documentation for end-users regarding new systems and processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in data migration projects, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, data governance practices, and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Relevant project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
