We are currently partnering with a reputable maritime firm that is currently looking for a Finance Counsel to be part of their lean collaborative team. They are looking for someone who will be able to be hands-on on providing legal advise to the Finance function within the business while working with external counsel to ensure all contracts are effectively prepared, well negotiated and executed.
Job Responsibilities
- Providing legal guidance and support to the business's Treasury and Finance teams as needed, focusing on all financial matters related to the firm
- Draft and negotiated contracts and agreements for financing transactions, swap arrangements, sale and leaseback deals, and the acquisition and sales of the business's assets, ensuring that the business secures optimal terms to operate effectively
- Monitor compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and operational standards concerning the business and its assets, and promptly relay relevant information to banks, financial institutions, shipping registries, and other stakeholders
- Prepare and facilitate the execution of necessary corporate authority documents, conditions precedent, Know Your Customer (KYC) documents, and other pertinent supporting documentation related to the firm
- Collaborate with external parties including but not limited to external counsel, financial institutions, registries, while advising on resolving disputes concerning legal documentation associate with the finance function
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 7 PQE in private practice or in-house with strong finance experience (have strong transactional work)
- Great communication skills with solution mindset
