Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Underwriting department
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to the team
- Develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures
- Evaluate risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and premium rates
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers and other stakeholders
- Resolve complex underwriting issues and provide expert advice
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for business growth
Key Skills
- Previous experience in underwriting within the insurance industry
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
- Sound knowledge of insurance products, processes, and regulations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Proven track record in driving performance and achieving targets
