Title: Digital Product Designer
Location: Charlotte, NC. 5 Days Onsite
Type: FTE, Direct Hire
Base Salary Range: $120-150k

As a Digital/Web Product Designer, you will be responsible for guiding the design process from ideation through to implementation, ensuring that all digital products meet the highest standards in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver responsive, visually appealing, and user-friendly solutions, optimizing the functionality and aesthetics of WordPress platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for WordPress-based digital products, ensuring that user experience (UX) and interface design (UI) are at the forefront.
  • Customize WordPress themes and integrate plugins to create tailored solutions, using occasional custom development when required.
  • Ensure that all designs are responsive and optimized for a range of devices including mobile, tablet, and desktop.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure seamless implementation of designs, translating concepts into functional code.
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive visual design system that aligns with brand guidelines and enhances the user experience.
  • Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback, performance analytics, and usability testing to improve product effectiveness.
  • Work with product managers, content teams, and marketing professionals to ensure that designs align with both business goals and user needs.
  • Create comprehensive design documentation, including style guides, wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications for development teams.
  • Develop interactive prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on WordPress websites and web applications.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar for creating wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
  • Strong expertise in WordPress, including theme customization, plugin integration, and familiarity with page builders like Elementor or WPBakery.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS, with the ability to collaborate effectively with front-end developers.
  • Solid experience with user-centered design principles, including user research and usability testing.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience with WordPress websites, e-commerce platforms, and other digital product design work.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts to stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to addressing design challenges.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering pixel-perfect designs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and performance optimization for WordPress sites.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce and custom plugin development for WordPress.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Creative Cloud.
