Data Scientist Manager / Bromley Hybrid / Up to £100,000
We are currently recruiting for a Data Scientist Manager for our well established client within the financial services industry.
The Senior Data Scientist Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of data science solutions aligned with the broader business strategy, contributing to the overall growth and efficiency of the organisation. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong quantitative background who is seeking to expand their commercial experience in a life insurance context.
Working in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment you will lead end-to-end processes, driving communication and delivering insights to senior management early in the project lifecycle. The role will provide opportunities to work across various strategic initiatives, including data analytics, proposition development, and process improvement.
Additionally, the Senior Data Scientist Manager will take the lead in developing data science applications, utilising tools such as Python, SQL, and Power BI, to analyze large data sets, drive business insights, and inform key strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify key opportunities to apply data science across business functions, focusing on both new growth areas and optimising in-force operations.
- Conduct in-depth investigations using data science methodologies and effectively communicate findings to a range of stakeholders.
- Take ownership of training machine learning models, including propensity models, and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Integrate CRM systems with machine learning models to enhance data analysis capabilities.
- Develop predictive models that can be implemented across the business to drive actionable results.
- Support ongoing business management by contributing to the development and execution of data strategies.
- Collaborate with distribution channels to analyse trends and customer behaviour, providing data-driven insights for performance management.
- Ensure that all data analysis and models comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements such as the Group AI Policy, Consumer Duty, and other applicable regulations.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong background in computer science, mathematics, or statistics with at least 5-7 years of hands-on quantitative experience.
- Previous experience in an insurance or financial services environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in data science tools and languages such as Python, R, and SPSS Modeller.
- Experience with data visualization platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Proven ability to build machine learning models from the ground up, with a focus on documentation and governance.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders both in writing and verbally.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions.
